Generation of  CSR Certificate on Linux Virtual Machine

 

A CSR or Certificate Signing request is a unique encoded text that is given to a Certificate Authority when applying for an SSL Certificate. It has to be generated on the server where the certificate will be installed and contains information that will be included in the certificate such as the organization name, domain name, locality, and country.

 

It mainly contains the public key that will be included in the certificate. A private key is usually created at the same time that you create the CSR, making a key pair.

 

Simple steps to create CSR Certificate:

 

  1. First you need to Login to our ACP Panel.

 

  1. Under List Account Select appropriate user and click on login.

 

 

  1. In the Domains section click on CSR Module.

 

 

  1. Now you need to fill the form with necessary informations like:

a) Domain Name : Select the required domain name from the dropdown.

b) Organisation : Enter the name of the business which is legally registered.

c) Department : Enter the dept name to which the business is belonging to.

d) City : Enter the city name where your organisation is located.

e) State : Enter the state name where your organisation is located.

f) Country : Enter the country name where your organisation is located.

 

  1. Once the above details are filled click on Save.

 

  1. It will take some time get generated. You can view the generated CSR by selecting the domain name from the dropdown which is above the form and select Log type as CSR File and click on view logs.
